What is a Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) ?

It's similar to my explanation regarding backups : Its something that takes a lot of setting up, administration and time - and you will never feel the benefit unless something has gone horribly wrong.

However, in the event that something catastrophic did happen, regardless if its due to a Fire, Theft, Flood or a light aircraft landing on your Server room - this plan should be implemented to get you up and running as soon as possible.

Depending on the size of your company, and the amount of PC's, Servers and other electronic devices you have in your workplace will determine the size of the DRP and Data pack that goes along with it.

Don't ignore how important it could be...

As shown above on a poll taken on pollhost.com, the majority of companies either have an unuseable DRP in place, or there isnt one at all! and at 66% is quite a large majority so you are not alone.

For many companies, a few backup discs, a few images of important servers and an inventory of software and PC's may suffice.
For  larger organisations that are predominantly data storage companies, web based sales companies or have huge amounts of equipment on site, a Cold, Warm or Hot secondary site may be part of the DRP and it maybe something that is constantly updated or even that requires someone to manage it full time.

We can plan with you your very own, bespoke DRP. It will not include any of the unnecessary protocols that would add to the costs, nor will it miss anything that is relevant to your company.

Maintenance clients benefit from having a standard DRP as part of our service to them that is updated and amended as their company expands and changes.

Your business insurance could also be reduced if you show a working DRP is in place, you may also sleep better at night.
