Network Security

If you have sensitive data onsite that requires the utmost protection you are probably running one or more firewalls, perhaps even an IDS system, maybe IAS, a high security domain - the possibilities to protect yourself are endless, you may even have gone to the extremes of setting up a fake open server (honey pot) if you have been hacked before, but what is necessary? how much paranoia is required?

First of all You are not paranoid! Statistics show that millions people are hacked, or have attempts on their security every day. Some may be people inadvertently attempting to connect to someone else's wireless router, others may include full blown DOS (Denial of Service) attacks on web servers for malicious purposes. There are no exact figures but there are a few easy steps that can cover for most of the accidental hacking many people are subject to - and it doesn't cost that much to be safe.

Software firewalls can be a very cost effective method, MS Windows actually comes with one for free (XP onwards) that is ok. Keeping up to date with Anti Virus updates and Windows updates can also help protect against exploitations that our hacker friends may have found and now want to abuse.

Whatever your requirements, we can setup, configure and test your network so that you are as safe as possible for your budget. Wireless routers are very common in offices now and are a great way to reduce messy wires but also carry great risks when setup incorrectly. WEP/WPA wireless encryption are both 'hackable' and even the highest levels of security can be overcome with a man in the middle attack or a rogue access point.

You wouldn't leave your house or office with the front door open, you wouldn't leave you car unlocked with a laptop on the front seat.

Don't leave your Network open, harden your system and prevent the inevitable, it may only cost as little as £50 to increase your protection
